Deana Finnegan was born and raised in Shiawassee County. She is a graduate of Durand High School and has devoted her career to public service and in prosecuting crimes against women and children.She and her husband Patrick, have two children. Daughter, Keely, is currently a senior at Central Michigan University, majoring in elementary education. Son, Patrick, is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,and is currently in his third year at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing.

The citizens of Shiawassee County and the men and women of the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department, deserve a sheriff who is educated, experienced and concerned for the welfare of our community. With over 19 years experience as a prosecutor, I can provide the mature leadership the department needs. I am committed to the safety of our citizens and our officers and will place the best people in the best positions to accomplish that goal. A sheriff should always lead by inspiration, never by intimidation. That's a promise I intend to keep.
